Responsibilities
Donald A. Tennant currently serves as Building Service Manager for Akridge, where he is responsible for utility purchasing and monitoring, plant maintenance and performance, and maintenance personnel for a portfolio comprising 4.4 million square feet of office space in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia. This includes responsibility for supervising the essential services and maintenance provided by field personnel to all buildings managed by Akridge. He consults on issues relating to development, construction and maintenance of tenant space as needed. With a staff of 50 trained and skilled individuals, Mr. Tennant ensures that quality porter, lobby attendant, concierge and engineering services are available to all properties in the Akridge community throughout the work day, after hours and in emergencies

Bachelor of Science, University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire,WI.
Master of Public Administration, University of Washington, Seattle, WA.

Apartment and Office Building Association (AOBA) - Utility Committee member since 1995.

Professional Experience
Mr. Tennant has been involved in engineering, corrective maintenance, and preventive maintenance for many years. With his US Navy background and experience, he joined Akridge for commercial real estate management in 1991. Over the past 12 years he has implemented automated and computerized preventive and corrective maintenance systems, improved staffing, refined utility monitoring and reporting, improved building automation and control systems, and worked to improve asset performance. He has developed substantial knowledge of and followed the progress of deregulation in the telecommunications, gas and electricity industries.
